Special guest:
Bubby Folds (aka Williams Fields)
“While recently reborn under a new alias, Bubby Folds has been creating and collecting all manner of electronic music since 1993.
His love of the music transcends boundaries of time, genre, and tempo; selecting the best of all possible worlds. The common denominators are quality, groove, bass, and positivity.”
Just added:
Stout Cortez (LIVE!) myspace
+ Captain Ridiculous (disco, house, electro, anything)
+ host/Seanicus (minimal, tech house, space, dub)
We’ll be bringing in some extra sound for this one!

Coming off a rocking December installment (thank you again to Capt. Ridiculous and kumabear!) and a one-month holiday break, the “Body + Mind” monthly series returns on Saturday, Feb. 6th 2010. This month’s special guest:
zooz [aesop] – extended Live + DJ set
If you were at the 2009 Philly Laptop Battle you saw zooz (aka Dominic Martin) throw down. Crunched micro beats, cleverly evolving groove, and animalistic samples coalesce in zooz’s slightly abstract, yet grounded minimal techno style. I am very excited to have him kick this event series back into gear.
With support from your host/resident :
Seanicus [Madison, WI/B+M] – DJ set

SATURDAY DEC. 5th 2009
As we move onto the second installment of this event series we’ll keep continue the focus on tangible, dancefloor-focused beats, both live PA and DJ formats.
THIS MONTH:
CAPTAIN RIDICULOUS (Philadelphia) – Electro/Disco
Captain Ridiculous (aka Jake Yaster) will be bringing some fresh heat to the night with some heavy-hitting electro and disco flavors from the 21st Century. Expect to get fuzz-jacked.
KUMABEAR (Brooklyn) – LIVE! Electro Tech
I saw kumabear play a set at the November 2007 Broketronica event at the old Inciting HQ. His chunky, funky, and jazzy electro techno stylings reminded me of how important live hardware is to techno. What will kumabear bring to the table this time? I can’t say, but I’m sure it’ll be sweet and of course it will be live.

BITCLIPR (Lancaster, PA) – LIVE!: Electrohouse
Bitclipr was born in the center of Pennsylvania to puritanical heritage. At age 7 he was given his first radio and a battle with pneumonia. Many nights he laid awake with fever and the sounds coming out of his radio. These sounds would later become hip hop and Baltimore house. Barely audible above the hum of a dime store humidifier, these sounds would serve as his inspiration to create a landscape of sound.
Funky bass lines and robotic grooves create the backbone for Bitclipr’s own take on electro house. I first saw Bitclipr when he opened for The Juan Maclean at Johnny Brenda’s last September. Great opening set! Very happy to have him help set the tone for this new event series.
