This month I played only Taylor Swift! Just kidding! April Fools! I played whatever the heck I want. – I think I have some music waiting in digital shopping carts, and could play some new tunes. “22”, to me, holds some magic in that it’s two 2’s, and 2 is my favorite number. So, come experience the Mystery of “22”! Ooooohhhoohhh!

Cosmosis 021: Drum & Bass and Jungle

This crate has been staring at me, waiting, growing patiently, like a huge black panther, waiting to pounce on me…But what that panther doesn’t know is that I created it, it follows my commands. And like a panther this genre can move smoothly and gracefully, and can also attack with supreme ferocity! Like much of the music of play, there are genres within genres, and so it takes a lot to explore. Expect a long set, with some lighter, ambient, smooth and soulful stuff, all the up to some techy, aggressive, sci-fi, neuro, and dark vibes and everything in between. Join me on a full forced dive into the world of Drum & Bass and Jungle.

Cosmosis 014: A Tribute to 4 Persons with the Same Amount of Personality (Aug 2024)

Join me for a Cosmosis dedicated to my old band, “4 Persons with the Same Amount of Personality,” aka 4 Persons, aka 4P. 4 Persons, is an all-Yamaha crap-keys novelty band. Its four members include Hibs, J-Mo, Hoofs (aka Seanicus), and the 4th “person” is Yamaha DD-8. The 4P Universe is an amalgamation of fantasy, superhero, and sci-fi worlds.

4P’s music was made with all single-take recordings. — No re-records, very limited editing. What you hear is what was played the first and only time. We rotated who started songs, usually with a beat and 1-2 parts, and then the rest of the band added whatever they felt was appropriate on the fly. 4P’s unique workflow not only allowed for freedom, creativity, and spontaneity, but it also inadvertently created a natural expansion and equilibrium of universal personality. Each member had equal power and influence over the band, contributing to the band’s unique sound and style. This mythos of equality and creativity continues to influence and inspire global society, demonstrating the band’s significant impact on life itself.

4P recorded two full-length albums, plus bonus tracks, in about three months of work. The first album, “Blades and Badgers,” was recorded in Madison, WI. “In One Swift Motion,” the second album, was recorded with two members in Madison and the other two (Hoofs and DD-8) in Philadelphia, exchanging music files via email. The song order almost exclusively follows the order in which they were created.

Let’s look back into one of the revolutionary times in novelty music. You will learn about yourself, tales of other worlds and times, and magic and space, and explore human ideologies, psychologies, and philosophies. You, yourself, may experience infinite personality!

Cosmosis 013: Seanicus Side Projects and Novelty Music – Part 1 (July 2024)

Am I right? Music takes itself way too seriously! — Join me for some light-hearted fun by visiting some of my non-Seanicus music projects and collaborations, including Swade, Sound Challengers, Potash, and Hoofs. — And for those that are wondering, the best band I was ever in falls into this category of novelty music, “4 Persons with the Same Amount of Personality” will be getting its own episode/part 2. — Time to get silly, weird, and off-kilter with Hoofs!

Cosmosis 011: Psydub & Psystep (May 2024)

Take a dubby and psychedelic trip that will stretch your soul, fractalize your mind, focus your attention, and get that noggin a bobbin’! Expect deep and funky, minimal and maximal, grimy and organic, shamanic and spacey, gigantic, galactic dubs, tribal and techy dubstep, and half-tempo breakbeats. Evolution is inevitable!
